The Speakers
Darren Mullins is an Investigative Partner for HKA, a leading global consultancy specializing in risk mitigation, dispute resolution, expert witness, and litigation support services. Based in Dubai, Darren brings over 15 years of expertise in forensic investigations to the Middle East region.
Darren is a highly accomplished and recognised expert in Forensic Investigations, including Digital Forensics and Cyber Investigations, with a focus on the development of AI technologies in the investigations and disputes process. He offers deep experience in undertaking investigations into billion-dollar frauds, complex regulatory matters, cybercrime investigations, and IT-related technical disputes for key corporations and government entities across the region.
Jerry Johnson is Vice-President and Deputy General Counsel of Robert Bosch LLC. He is responsible for global litigation for the Bosch Group, which is a multinational group of companies involved in the mobility, industrial, consumer products and building technology industries. Prior to joining Bosch, Jerry was a litigator and trial lawyer with Detroit based national law firms. He has extensive experience in lawsuits, arbitrations and investigations, and the eDiscovery associated with such matters.
In his current role he is pursuing opportunities to leverage advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to develop solutions that improve the assessment of litigious matters and reduce the time and cost associated with eDiscovery and litigation generally.
Samantha Bowie is an admitted lawyer in NSW, Australia. As the co-founder of Siera Data, she is dedicated to Partner and Client Engagement. Her 15+ years in the leading law firms, the largest corporate regulator, and a global advisory firm. Her international exposure includes eDiscovery projects in the UK, USA, Hong Kong, and China, as well as domestically where she guided corporate clients through compliance challenges, Royal Commissions, and major class actions.
Sam’s expertise extends across diverse industries, including construction, energy, manufacturing, and finance. Bridging the gap between the legal and technology spheres, she leverages her insights to develop creative solutions, streamline workflows and improve results for her clients.
Stephen Goldstein is a seasoned legal technologist and independent consultant with over 25 years of experience at the intersection of law and technology. A recognized expert in eDiscovery, Stephen has been at the forefront of applying artificial intelligence to legal processes. His pioneering work includes early adoption of predictive coding and extensive experience with generative AI applications in the legal domain.
Throughout his career, Stephen has held key positions at three leading global law firms, most recently in his role as the Global Director of Practice Support at Squire Patton Boggs. There, he oversaw large-scale eDiscovery projects and white-collar investigations, providing strategic technical guidance to the firm’s lawyers and delivering innovative solutions for client matters worldwide.
A thought leader in legal technology, Stephen frequently speaks on topics such as litigation technology, electronic data discovery, and AI in law. He has contributed to the Electronic Data Reference Model (EDRM) project and is a former member of the Sedona Conference® Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production. Stephen’s experience spans the modern continuum of technological progress in the legal field, giving him a unique perspective on the evolving landscape of legal technology and its impact on the practice of law. His expertise encompasses a broad range of legal tech tools, from early document management systems to cutting-edge AI-powered analytics platforms.
John Tredennick (JT@Merlin.Tech) is the CEO and founder of Merlin Search Technologies, a software company leveraging generative AI and cloud technologies to make investigation and discovery workflow faster, easier, and less expensive. Prior to that he was founder and CEO of Catalyst Repository Systems, which he sold to a public company in early 2019. For the first 20 years of his career, he was a trial lawyer and litigation partner at a national law firm.
Tredennick is a prolific speaker and writer. Over the past 30 years, he has written eight books and countless articles on legal technology topics, including “TAR for Smart People” (3rd Ed.), two ABA bestsellers “Winning with Computers” (Vols. One and Two), “How to Prepare For, Take and Use a Deposition at Trial (James Publishing), and several editions of “The Lawyer’s Guide to Spreadsheets.” Tredennick has served as a Chair of the ABA’s Law Practice Management Section and Editor in Chief of its flagship magazine. He is currently active with EDRM and the Sedona Conference having a lead drafting role on numerous of their publications.
