Something Big Is Happening In AI: Your Resource Center
Thank you for joining our EDRM webinar exploring a pivotal question for the industry: is 2026 the tipping point for discovery and investigations? Whether you attended live or are watching the recording, this page brings together the key ideas and materials from the session.
During the webinar, our speakers Craig Ball, Cat Casey, and John Tredennick discussed what’s fundamentally changing in how legal teams work with information. We explored how modern systems now reason across large document sets, how expanded context acts like working memory, and how the shift is moving from traditional search tools to true thinking partners.
We also focused on where these capabilities are already delivering value across real workflows, including early case assessment, deposition preparation, document review, timeline construction, strategy development, brief writing, and appeals.
At the same time, the conversation addressed the hard questions that come with this shift, including hallucinations, security, confidentiality, and professional responsibility.
The audience had no shortage of questions — more than we could address in the time we had. John Tredennick has answered many of them in writing, covering topics that came up repeatedly during the session: AI billing transparency, regulatory use of AI, how courts are adapting to AI-assisted review, data security, and more. You can read his responses here. Feel free to reach out to our other speakers and get their take on these questions as well.
Looking ahead, the discussion made it clear that over the next 18 months these tools are expected to become standard in litigation workflows. Clients will begin to expect them, speed will become a defining competitive advantage, and teams that do not adapt risk falling structurally behind.
Below you’ll find the full presentation and supporting materials from the session so you can explore these ideas in more detail and see how they apply to your own practice.
